Don Aker, Processing Manager, was the most recent recipient of the GoPrime Personality Award for his leadership and willingness to jump into any situation to lend a hand. His calmness, even in the toughest of circumstances, and adaptability in high-pressure, fast-paced situations is something we all strive to achieve here at GoPrime. Day-in and day-out, Don helps his team to be successful. A member of his team recalled a moment where, “recently on a day that was particularly difficult in processing, we received the last bit of documentation needed to close a loan. At 2pm, I asked [Don] if he could [help with a crucial part of the loan process]. He did not have any insight on the loan and was quite caught up in his own job that afternoon. He didn’t hesitate to jump in our file, sort everything out, send for final review, and that allowed us to still close that loan at 5pm on a Friday afternoon. He made a LOT of people very, very, very happy that day.”
Another team member stated, “When I grow up, I want to be Don.” And we couldn’t agree more. Don’s favorite advice that he ever received is also advice that he exemplifies each and every day: “No matter how hard life hits you, if you keep trying, you will always make it through.”
Each quarter, the GoPrime Personality recipient receives a monetary gift to donate to their charity of choice. Don chose St. Jude’s Hospital to be the recipient of a $500 donation. Don also spends time leading our Corporate efforts to volunteer at Meals on Wheels in Apex, NC.
Outside of work, Don enjoys watching football, cooking, spending time with his family, friends, and his dog, Piper.
