At GoPrime Mortgage, we believe homeownership is one of the most powerful ways to build stability, strengthen communities, and reward service. Every day, federal law enforcement officers (LEOs) — from FBI agents and U.S. Marshals to ICE and DEA officers — risk their lives to protect our country.
They chase dangerous criminals, disrupt drug trafficking, defend our borders, and stand between chaos and safety. These brave men and women carry a badge, a firearm, and a deep commitment to public service.
And yet, they’re excluded from one of the most meaningful benefits our nation offers to those who serve — the VA Home Loan Program.
We think it’s time that changed. We’ve created a petition to gain awareness.
The VA Home Loan Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, helps active-duty service members, veterans, and qualifying spouses achieve homeownership. With no down payment, no private mortgage insurance, and competitive interest rates, it’s one of the most impactful benefits available to those who serve our country.
But what about those who serve and protect here at home?
Federal law enforcement officers face dangers that often mirror the risks of military service — yet they don’t qualify for the same path to homeownership.
Federal LEOs put themselves in harm’s way every day:
Facing danger head-on. ICE agents intercept smugglers, U.S. Marshals pursue fugitives, and FBI agents take on counterterrorism threats. These are not desk jobs — they’re high-stakes, high-risk roles.
Serving with dedication. Long hours, unpredictable shifts, and missed family moments are part of their reality.
Carrying financial strain. Many start their careers earning modest pay in costly areas — border towns, major cities, and high-cost living zones. Homeownership can feel out of reach.
Giving these officers access to VA-style home loan benefits would provide not just financial stability, but recognition for the service they give every single day.
Qualified agencies: FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, ATF, U.S. Secret Service (Uniformed Division), Customs and Border Protection, and ICE.
Qualified roles: Officers who carry a badge and firearm in public-facing positions — not administrative or desk roles.
Service requirement: A minimum of two years of active law enforcement service.
This would ensure that the benefit truly reaches those who face the greatest risks in service to the nation.
Extending home loan benefits to federal LEOs doesn’t just help them — it helps the communities they serve.
It strengthens local ties. When officers can afford to buy homes in their communities, they become part of the neighborhoods they protect.
It supports recruitment and retention. Offering home loan benefits would make federal law enforcement careers more appealing and help keep skilled officers in service longer.
It promotes fairness. Recognizing their sacrifices aligns with our country’s values — and GoPrime’s mission to make homeownership accessible for those who serve others.
Federal law enforcement officers are America’s front-line defenders. They run toward danger, uphold justice, and keep our communities safe. Extending VA-style home loan benefits to them is a practical and meaningful way to honor that service.
At GoPrime Mortgage, we support all those who serve — in uniform, in law enforcement, and in our communities. Homeownership should be within reach for those who give so much to protect it.
It’s time to make that happen. Sign our petition and share the word!
