While this summer may look different than years past, there is still plenty of socially-distanced fun to be had this season. Enjoy outdoor activities including farmer’s markets, berry picking, metro parks, water sports and more!
Local Produce and U-PICK Fields
DJ’s Berry Patch – 1223 Salem Church Road, Apex, NC 27523
Families can pre-order fresh produce boxes or stop by for an afternoon of berry picking. At this time, DJ’s Berry Patch has the following fresh produce available: red potatoes, zucchini, squash, spring onions, cabbage, cucumbers and peppers. At Buckwheat Farm, stop by the produce stand for fresh produce and, most importantly – blueberries! This time of year, blueberries are ready to be picked and used for everything from pies to muffins, cobblers and more. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
If you’re itching to get outside and work up a sweat, then a local park may be your best option for socially-distanced outdoor activity! Here are three local options currently open during the pandemic:
